This is for driving heat in at high conversion levels. This Local Government complex is a large leisure centre serving a large part of Utrecht in the Netherlands.

It has multiple pools, slides and hot water baths. It has a capacity of about 600 people at any one time.

The HONE system suppresses the district gas system and HONE can easily provide all the energy at certain times of the year. The system is not full size as there were roof structure limitations but the maximum system that could be installed was completed.

The system installed is a custom commercial HONE Heat & Power system approx 250 sqm.  As with all HONE systems, it was designed completely based on the input site survey and to integrate with the existing systems. Integrating with existing commercial swimming pools is not very difficult and the cost of integration is one of the lowest for a HONE project.

Very clear, energy costs savings and reduction of CO2 on their energy rating.

The biggest challenge in this installation came for our design team as the roof was at different levels and orientations. It meant longer design process but this meant a  straight forward plan to install.

This system savings are being monitored over the first year but the system has already performed better than expected.
