SPAIN – HONE Heating, Hot Water & Pool Heating System – HONE

This installation is our standard HONE residential Heating, Hot Water & Pool Heating system, designed to provide heating, hot water and heat to the house and pool all year round.

In this location the HONE system will provide nearly all the heat energy required annually.

What HONE system has been installed here?

The system installed is a standard HONE Heating, Hot Water & Pool System which is installed in a priority of hot water, heating and pool heating in that order.

What was the motivation for the homeowner to do the upgrade?

The homeowner was facing significant heating bills for the year as the home is approx 3,000 sqft. in size. The home is primarily built with solid concrete walls as this is important in the home being able to keep itself cool under intense summer heat. This mass keeps internal temperatures down. This has the counter effect of needing more heat in winter. This type of construction is a typical trade off in Spain and other hot countries to balance comfort in both the colder winter and hot summer. The outdoor swimming pool will require significant amounts of heat and all this will come from the HONE system all year round if required.

Where there any challenges with this installation?

This house was a new build, a very simple straight forward project. This project used small radiators and underfloor mixed throughout the building.

What are the savings expected?

This system is designed to do most of the annual heating, hot water & pool saving in excess of €7,000 a year on heating oil.
